Gmail will mimic Facebook and Twitter

California - Google will add a social service to the popular email service, Gmail. As a result, Gmail will adopt such services owned as Facebook and Twitter status sharing, photos to video.

Google expects, Gmail users will not need to open a Facebook or Twitter to simply view or to update the status. In addition, Google also plans to integrate the content to YouTube and Picasa can be seen in Gmail.

Launched detikINET from Wired, Tuesday (9/2/2010), Google wants to make Gmail as a center of Internet users send messages, not just email. So far, Gmail users can chat, video calls and send SMS.

No further details about these changes to Gmail. But Google reportedly will make an announcement soon about this.
